The largest book distributors in Ghana and the whole of West Africa, EPP Books Services, on February 4, 2016, donated items worth three hundred and ten thousand Ghana cedis (310,000) to the Nursing and Graduate Schools of the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The items were donated during a short ceremony held at premises of the hospital. The donation which forms part of the company’s cooperate social responsibility saw items including test books, chairs and computers presented to the schools.
The Administrator of the 37 Military Hospital, Lieutenant Colonel Rex Adzagba, and Director of Post-Graduate Teaching, Colonel Mante Sunny, accepted the items on behalf of the schools and expressed their profound gratitude to EPP Books for their contribution, promising to use the items for their intended purpose. They were hopeful this initiative will encourage other stakeholders to follow suit and support the institution.
The territorial manager of EPP Books Services, Mr. Faisal Ibrahim Cisse, in a brief address, during the ceremony, commended the hospital for its long standing reputation in the delivery of quality health services in the country. He added that EPP Books Services were glad to extend help to the schools, and are confident that, the donation will go a long way to improve teaching and learning.
Mr. Cisse also revealed that EPP’s commitment to playing its role in the academic development of Ghanaians will soon manifest in a number of new projects to be rolled out. He intimated that, one of such projects would be the “stock your library project”, designed to allow a good number of schools receive free books from EPP Books Services.
